Once upon a time there was a young prince living in his beautiful castle. Despite all his wealth he was very selfish and had no friends.
On a rainy night she was visited by an old woman who asked for shelter only for that night.
In a great bad mood he refused to help the old lady. But what he did not know was that this old woman was a disguised witch, who had heard several stories about the selfishness of that young prince. Indignant at her attitude, she cast a spell upon him that had made him a horrible beast. All his servants had become objects. The charm could only be undone if he received a kiss of love.
Meanwhile, in a village far away, there lived a merchant with his daughter named Bela. They were poor, but very happy.
Bella loved books, stories, she used to tell them to the children of the village. His father, Maurício, was a merchant and traveled a lot by comparing and selling his diverse products.

The story starts when a father who is trying to get back his fortune stumbles upon a castle, where a beast lived. The beast doesn't kill him, as long as he agreed to send one of his daughters to the castle.
He sends his daughter Beauty. When she meets the beast, she sees the goodness in him, and that he is not all bad. However, when he talks about marriage, she says no, because she sees him as a friend.
One day, when she arrives at the castle, she meets a prince instead of the beast. Turns out the prince was cursed to live like a beast until e found true love, and the spell was broken when Beauty saw the good in him.
