O verbo to be no passado tem algumas variações de acordo com o sujeito. Vou montar uma lista com as conjugações certas para cada sujeito (fiz no modo afirmativo, quando for negativo basta acrescentar not na frente do were ou was):

I was (eu)

You were (você)

He/she/it was (ele, ela e ele/ela para coisas e animais)

We were (nós)

You were (vocês)

They were (eles)
