I'm really close to my friend
Thomas - we can talk about

I found out that he deals acid and
poc. I was shocked when I found
out, and asked him why he does
ic. He said he needs the money
But I don't understand why he
has to get money this way, and !
don't know what I'm supposed to
do about it. Mostly. I'm afraid
he'll ger hurt. Should I try to per-

You could try to persuade him to stop - and to convince him that
he's hurting himself as well as other people. You could also let him know
you're upset about this because you care about him, and you think he
could get another (legal) job - a job that he could someday put on a resu
mé. Believe it or not. he might not have thought about some of this
On the other hand, he might think about it all the time and still decide
the easiest way to make money is to deal - so your talk might not achieve
anything. In that case, do yourself a favor stay away from him when he's
dealing (or using), and when he's not keep letting him know this whole
thing is very uncool with you. And cross your fingers for the guy -
hopefully, he'll get his act together before he ends up in jail. Or worse

O texto se trata de um dialogo onde um personagem possui um amigo, Thomas, que está traficando drogas. Com essa situação o personagem não entende o porquê de Thomas fazer isso.

Na segunda parte do texto conselhos são dados para tentar tirar Thomas do mundo das drogas. Refletindo a real situação de muitos jovens na sociedade, cujo por necessidade e/ou por falta de informação acabam se envolvendo com drogas.

Com base nisso podemos responder cada questão:

1) De que forma poderia se impedir o crescimento do abuso de drogas? Observando cada alternativa a melhor opção seria obstruir durante a adolescência, letra b "Obstructed during adolescence", visto que as outras alternativas visam mais a punição do que a reeducação;

2) Assim como texto a maioria dos adultos dependentes de drogas começou usando drogas durante a adolescência, por ser um período de maior vulnerabilidade, quando se diz respeito a esse tipo de coisa. Portanto, a alternativa c "adolescents" está correta.
