1. Na maioria dos adjetivos com uma ou duas sílabas, acrescenta ''the'' e ''est'' no final do adjetivo.
John is the tallest boy in the class
John é o mais alto da classe.
This is the oldest building in town.
Este é o prédio mais velho da cidade.
2. Adjetivos com duas ou mais sílabas >> acrescenta-se ''the most'' antes do adjetivo.
Exemplos:
expensive - the most expensive - o mais caro
beautiful - the most beautiful - a mais bonita
different – the most different – o mais diferente
3. Adjetivos terminados em Y, troca o ''y'' por "i" e acrescenta ''est''
funny - funniest
Exceções:
good - bom
the best - o melhor
bad - ruim
the worst - o pior
