Day 1
Our tour starts at 7:00 a.m., at your hotel entrance in Manaus. From there, we will head up north, to a small village, Cachoeira do Castanha, where you  will have the opportunity to observe and interact with pink dolphins in the river.
Afterwards, you will visit an indigenous village called “Dessana,” on the other side of the river, where villagers will perform for us. This is a small demonstration of their typical dances, which they practice to this day. The performance and visit is arranged for a rate (included in tour rate) the villagers feel  is fair to them, for teaching us a bit about their history, and allowing us to visit their home. There, you can also purchase local crafts to continue to assist this community. After the ceremony, we will leave to fish piranha, and then return for lunch in the village on a floating restaurant. After lunch, we will return to the car, and drive to Manaus straight to the  Ceasa Port, where our boat will be waiting for us to cross to the other side of the Amazon river. On our way there, we will stop where the Rio Negro and Solimões meet, and will discover a little more about the phenomenon of the “Meeting of the Waters.”
Once we’ve crossed, we’ll hop into a van, for one hour and half hour on the BR 319/AM 254. On the way, stop to see the giant water lilies of the Amazon. We will finally reach a smaller river, and get on a regional motorized canoe that will take us to the lodge. Once you arrive, all accommodations will be waiting for you to drop off your things, and freshen up for dinner. After dinner, we’ll head out to experience nocturnal wildlife, but especially to go alligator spotting. We’ll then return to the lodge to rest, after a long day of activities!
Day 2
Day 2 starts very early! At 5:30 in the morning, we will see the sunrise from the front the entrance of the lodge, along the riverbank. After breakfast, we will take a walk in the jungle, where you will learn about the typical herbs of the Amazon forest, most of which are still used by the natives and caboclos of the region, for several types of illnesses. Survival techniques will also be taught by your local guide on this walk.
In the afternoon, we will go canoeing to explore the igarapés, or creeks, where we will have the opportunity to see monkeys, toucans and other animals native to the region. We’ll finish up the tour by stopping to watch the sunset. Return for dinner, and afterwards, go for another nocturnal canoeing trip to spot nocturnal wildlife. Return to the lodge for overnight.
Day 3
On the third and last day, we will leave early, at 5:20 in the morning, for a short canoeing trip, in search of more animals. We will return to the lodge for breakfast, and then leave in a motorized canoe to explore the Rio Mutuca to Terra Preta, where you will have the opportunity to see one of the largest trees in the Amazon Rainforest, the “Samaúma.” Finally, we will return to the lodge for lunch, and at around 1:30 pm, make our way back to Manaus, arriving at your hotel or airport, at around 5:00 pm.
