Diferenças entre Simple Past x Past Continuous:
O Simple Past é o tembo verbal utilizado para indicar ações passadas finalizadas. Muitas vezes, é acompanhado de marcadores de tempo, como "last week", "yesterday", "ago", etc. Já o Past Continuous aponta para uma ação que estava acontecendo em determinado período no passado. Em geral, usa-se muito o Past Continuous para contar histórias e situações passadas com detalhes.
No dia a dia, é comum usar ambos os tembos verbais como recursos comunicativos. No exemplo número 4, por exemplo, a pessoa está descrevendo um episódio que passou em uma aula de Química.
