  • Fish doesn't fly. They swim.
  • The sun doesn't rise in the west. It sets down in the west.
  • Cats don't bark. Dogs do.
  • Natalie usually doesn't sit in the sun. She rarely goes to the beach.
  • Babies don't talk. They cry.
  • Dali often dries the dishes but she doesn't put them away.
  • Betty usually doesn't do homework before she eats supper.
  • Sarit brushes her hair every morning before she goes to school.
  • Nir always tries to be good boy, but he doesn't behave well.
  • Mike usually doesn't catch a cold in the winter. He frequently catches in the summer.

No simple present, os verbos na negativa recebem o verbo auxiliar "do" ou "does" junto com a partícula de negação "not". O "Do" é usado quando o sujeito se refere aos pronomes I, You, They e We.

Entretanto, para sujeitos da terceira pessoa do singular (He/She/It), deve-se adicionar o sufixo -s/-es/-ies no final do verbo.
