Primeiro vou te explicar a regra:

Little é usado quando o substantivo está no singular e Few é usado quando ele está no plural, os dois significam algum/pouco.

Substantivos contáveis (people, students, problems) podem estar tanto no plural como no singular, então com eles se usa "a few", "very few"

Já os substantivos incontáveis (water, money) só tem a forma no singular, então com eles você usa "a little", "very little"
