São substantivos contáveis e incontáveis. Usamos *How many* (quantos, quantas) para coisas contáveis; isto é, que podem ser enumerados. Usamos *How much*, para coisas contáveis, isto é, não podem ser enumerados, how much significa *que quantidade*.
OBS: Podemos usar *how much* com coisas *contáveis*, quando queremos saber *quanto custa*.
Alguns exemplos de incontáveis: Milk (leite ), coffee (café), water (água), wine (vinho), oil (petróleo, óleo), salt (sal), sugar (açúcar), money (dinheiro), honey (mel), etc...
*How much* is the book? (Quanto custa o livro?)
The book is five dollars. (O livro custa cinco dólares).
