Bom, minha história começa no ano de 2016, era um ano normal para mim até então, eu estava prestes a ingressar no ensino médio, quando me veio a notícia de que uma pessoa muito importante havia falecido, meu avô. Fui ao velório e fiquei muitos dias de luto sem ir para escola, foi aí que vi que minha vida estava indo de mal a pior, eu morava e ainda moro em uma das maiores favelas de São Paulo, minha família tinha e ainda tem uma renda muito baixa e ainda tínhamos que auxiliar financeiramente meus familiares, já que eles viviam da aposentadoria do meu avô. Essa foi e ainda está sendo uma época difícil da minha vida, na quele momento me dei conta por total de que teria que fazer algo para mudar a minha vida, eu nunca fui um ótimo aluno na escola, eu me considerava aquele cara na média. Com o fim de ano, todos meus amigos estavam entusiasmados para ingressar no ensino médio, mas eu não, eu não queria ser só mais um estudante normal, que iria para o ensino médio público, muitas vezes sem fazer nada na escola e além disso ser vítima de doutrinação. Foi aqui que tudo começou a mudar, descobri que existia algumas oportunidades de ter uma educação melhor, descobri que havia 3 escolas em meu bairro, que ofereciam bolsas integrais para os melhores colocados em um mini vestibular, desse dia em diante dediquei todo tempo livre do meu dia a estudar para estes testes, o resultado foi que passei em 3 das 3 escola, muitas pessoas não acreditaram quando saiu o resultado, mas foi isso que aconteceu. Hoje já estou no segundo ano do ensino médio, estou estudando com os mesmos professores que a elite de São Paulo tem acesso, eu quero ter uma vida melhor, esse foi meu primeiro passo, mas em minha opinião pessoal, tenho muito o que fazer ainda para chegar em meus objetivos, estou me inscrevendo para o programa Oportunidades Acadêmicas e espero que isso mude minha vida.

I went to the funeral and stayed many days in mourning without going to school, that's when I saw that my life was going from bad to worse, I lived and still live in one of the biggest shanty towns of São Paulo, my family had and still haves a very low rent and we still have to help financialy my relatives, because they live from my grandfather's retirement. This was and it's still being a tough epoch in my life, in that moment I totally realized that I would have to do something to change my life, I never was a great student at the school, I considered myself as that guy at the average. With the end of the year, all my friends were excited to ingress the High School, but I wasn't, I didn't want to be just one more normal student, that would go to the public High School, many times doing nothing at the school and besides being victim of indoctrination. It was here when everything begin to change, I discovered that were three schools in my neighborhood, that offered integral scholarships to the best placed in a mini entrance exam, from this day I dedicated all the free time of my day to study for these tests, the result  it was that I passed in all the three schools, many people didn't believed when the result came out, but that's what happened. Today I'm at the second year of High School, I'm studying with the same teachers that São Paulo's elite has access, I want to have a better life, this was my first step, but in personal opinion, I still have a lot to do to reach my objectives, I'm signing up to the program Oportunidades Acadêmicas¹ and I hope this change my life."
