(Todos que não usam "are" como conjugação do verbo to be).
⚠️Were se usa para os sujeitos: We, You, They.
(Todos que usam "Are" como conjugação do verbo to be).
Se usa o past continuous quando indica ideia de continuidade no passado.
Por exemplo na primeira parte: "I was living", indica que aquilo acontecia naquele passado.
Já o verbo "meet", por exemplo, é usado no seu passado "met" por se tratar do verbo encontrar. Naquela hora eles se encontraram, o verbo começou e terminou quando aconteceu, por isso não é usado o past continuous e sim o past simple.
