Bob is spending his vacation on his uncle's farm.

One day he is walking on the farm when he sees a pear tree full of ripe pears. He climbs the tree, picks a pear and eats it.

Suddenly a furious dog appears under the tree. The dog barks furiously. Soon comes a worker that says:

- Ah! Wait a moment, thief! The farmer must know you!

The worker runs to the farmer's house and says:

- There is a thief on your farm! Look at that pear tree!

- Let's see who that thief is!

When they come near the pear tree the farm says:

- We are mistaken. That boy is not a thief! He's Bob! My nephew! John, call the dog and leave my nephew on the tree.

Explicação:

Sabemos que esta é a resposta correta pois no começo do texto há uma frase reveladora: 'Bob is spending his vacation on his uncle's farm'. Traduzindo: 'Bob está passando suas férias na fazenda de seu tio'.

Também temos outra frase reveladora: 'That boy is not a thief! He's Bob! My nephew'.

Traduzindo: 'Aquele garoto não é um ladrão! É o Bob! Meu sobrinho'.

'Spend vacation' é o 'passar as férias' no Brasil.

2 - Sabemos que esta é a resposta correta, já que podemos observar a seguinte frase no texto: 'One day he is walking on the farm when he sees a pear tree full of ripe pears'.

Traduzindo: 'Um dia ele está andando pela fazenda quando vê uma árvore de peras cheia dessas frutas maduras'.

'Ripe' significa: maduro/a/s.
