Ariana Grande-Butera, professionally known as Ariana Grande, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress.
Ariana was born on June 26th, 1993, in Boca Raton, Florida. She is the daughter of Joan Grande and Edward Butera. Grande's family moved from New York to Florida when her mother was pregnant with her. At 9 or 10 years old, her parents separated.
In 2008 Ariana participated on a Broadway musical, but her music career began in 2011 when she began uploading covers of songs to YouTube. Two years later she signed a contract with Republic Records. On August 30th, 2013, she released her first studio album “Yours Truly”, which was a success. Her second album was released on August 25th, 2014.
In 2016 she released the album “Dangerous Woman”, and on May, 2017, a radical Islamic terrorist detonated a bomb at her show, killing 23 people and injuring 139. Then, on June, 2017, she organized and performed a benefit concert for the victims, and in 2018 she took part in a protest for the gun control in the U.S.
She won a Brit Award for best international female solo artist in 2019.
