Phil isn't 5 years old (importante: quando se referir a idade de alguém usa-se IS, tipo, he is five years old, que no portugues seria "ele é 5 anos de idade" mas no inglês devemos falar assim!)

Quando se fala de >uma< pessoa ou objeto usa-se IS caso for negativo usa-se ISN'T (que é basicamente a abreviação is not)

Quando se fala de >mais< de uma coisa(PLURAL)\pessoa (THEY) ou quando me referir a >outra pessoa por (VOCÊ)< usa-se ARE ou na negativa AREN'T (a mesma explicação do isn't)
