Almost anyone has had a nightmare – a dream that has too much plot – and has known the feeling of dread it can inspire, But teenagers are more likely to have nightmare than adults are.
Consider this: your heart and mind do not turn themselves off at night. They Keep working, trying to make sense of things that have happened to you during the day. If whatever you are trying to deal with in the dream becomes too disturbing, the dream becomes a nightmare which wakes you up.
A nightmare could start you thinking a little deeper. You’d better try to identify the fears expressed in the nightmare and come to terms with them. In other words, understanding your nightmare may be the key to stopping them. Dreams seldom mean what they seem to mean. Of course the meanings of images and symbols vary from person to person. You’d better search your inner thoughts to identify the conflict in your life that is really bothering you. Once you have identified these conflicts, try to work them through. You’d better deal with them consciously than have them buried in your subconscious.
If you are troubled by recurrent nightmare over a long period of time , You’d better seek counselling. Many teenagers would rather go to a good therapist to get some help on what is causing those bad dreams.
