There're tons of them, and most can be identified by the termination -ly or -lly, added to the end of adjectives. Examples: normally (from adjective normal), greatly (from adjective great), completely (from adjective complete), etc.
Regarding their function, they are used to apply some properties to the adjoining verbs in a clause, such as those related to intensity, mode, etc. Examples:
I) "The boy hastily ran into his father's arms" (hastily => in a hasty manner/way);
II) "It has been raining plentifully in recent times (plentifully => in a plentiful manner/way)
There are adjectives which are adjectives and adverbs at the same time, too. Examples:
I.1) bright => adjective;
I.2) bright = brightly => adverbs;
II) great => adjective;
II.2) great = greatly => adverbs;
III) far => adjective and adverb;
IV) sideway => adjective and adverb
