⟩⟩ O Past Continuous é um tempo verbal utilizado para falar de ações que foram interrompidas, ou seja, não concluídas, em algum momento no passado.

⟩⟩ Para formar orações nesse tempo é necessário o uso do verbo “To Be” representado por “was/were” e o verbo principal no gerúndio, verbo que o “ing” é acrescentado como sufixo.

     Sujeito + was/were + verbo com ing

⟩⟩ Para formar frases interrogativas colocamos o was/were antes do sujeito;

  • Was I reading ?
  • Were you studying ?
  • Was he sleeping ?

⟩⟩ Para formar frases negativas acrescenta-se o “not” após “was/were”.

  • I was not reading
  • You were not studying
  • He was not sleeping
