a) The advantages are that all scientists in the world can exchange knowledge and communicate in the same language.
b) In my opinion there is more advantages, because people that don’t have english as their native language could learn and have more knowledge too, and they wouldn’t have to translate everything all the time, every scientist would understand the ideas and concepts.
