Quanto a concordância verbal de uma frase no 'past continuous', esta estrutura é forma o verbo 'to be' no passado mais o verbo principal acrescido de 'ing'.
O verbo 'to be' (was ou were) concorda com o sujeito assim:
I was studying
You were studying.
He was studying.
She was studying.
It was studying.
We were studying.
You were studying.
They were studying.
