4. Read and answer.
Dinosaurs were the biggest animals in the world. They lived on land and in water
millions of years ago. There were more than 700 different types of dinosaurs.
Some were taller than a house and others were smaller than a cat.
The tallest dinosaur was the Diplodocus. It lived in North America about 150 million
years ago. The Diplodocus was over 40 meters long. It had a long neck like a giraffe,
and it walked on four legs. It didn't eat meat - it ate leaves, grass, and plants.
The most famous dinosaur was the T-Rex. It lived about 65 million years ago. It came from North
America too. The T-Rex had two legs and two short arms, a huge head with a very big mouth, and 58
very sharp teeth. It ate meat from other animals and from some other dinosaurs too.
A terrible natural disaster caused the dinosaurs to become extinct. Many scientists believe that a nuge bal
of fire, a comet, hit the Earth and caused such destruction that only few species of plants and animais
survived. The ones that survived had to change their habits so they could continue to live on the planet.
