Man is only a part of the natural world, and not its owner. But the seven billion people living on this

beautiful planet are destroying its forests, making animals extinct, making new deserts, polluting the

seas. They are killing life on Earth.

A tropical rainforest is a wonderful ecosystem, with an enormous number of plant and animal life.

In Amazonia, the Amazon Rainforest, there are 1,600 species of birds. In all there are about one million

species of plant and animal life in the forest.

But “progress” is destroying the forest. Man cuts down trees, causing death of 100 plant and animal

species every day in the Amazon. We have to stop this destruction. Save the Amazon, save the planet.

It’s only one we have.​
