There Were = Haviam, Existiam.

There Was = Havia, Existia.

⟩⟩ As expressões “ There was ” e “ There were ” são usadas para indicar a existência de ‘algo’ porém para se usar cada uma é importante saber que ambas têm diferença.

⟩⟩ De maneira geral usamos o >> There was << para coisas do singular, como por exemplo, “ there was a man here ” (havia um homem aqui) “ there was a hand ” (tinha uma mão).

⟩⟩ Já o >> There were << é usado para coisas do plural como por exemplo, “ there were many people ” (haviam muitas pessoas) “ there were five girls here ” (haviam cinco meninas aqui).
