Sometimes, when fear and anxiety is widespread, there can be hatred, exclusion and those kinds of things. And sometimes, the most vulnerable of society can find themselves at the receiving end of it. This is also the case, unfortunately, with migrants these days, especially in this outbreak. So it is important to keep in mind that there may be stigmatizing narratives that are evolving.
Things can be aggravated through fake news or misinformation. This matters because public health policy may be misinformed. It matters because some people may not come forward that need to be tested. And that, really, is behaviour that puts all of us at risk. There cannot be no "us versus them". We are actually all in this, together.
