Regra geral:

Is/ Isn't (is not) = singular

Are/ Aren't (are not) = plural

Portanto:

a) Peter isn't American.

b) Mary isn't in the office.

c) He isn't sad.

d) We aren't in New York.

e) The car isn't in the garage.

f) She isn't a teacher.

g) He isn't a doctor.

h) She isn't at home.

i) He isn't an actor.

j) The dog isn't in the garden.

k) You aren't very happy.

l) They aren't in Brazil.

* Exceção: o pronome you (você/vocês), mesmo estando no singular, é seguido por are/aren't.
