As question tags ou tag questions são usadas pela língua inglesa no final das frases para questionar ou confirmar alguma informação. As sentenças devem sempre estar acompanhadas de vírgulas, para separar a frase inicial da pergunta final. Além disso, é preciso sempre observar a oração principal e analisar seu tempo verbal para poder concordar com a próxima frase, ou seja: se estiver no tempo presente, a question tag também estará no presente. Se começar a expressão no passado, a question tag também será usada no tempo verbal passado.
Também é necessário checar a primeira frase:
- Se for afirmação, a question tag será uma pergunta negativa.
Ex: They are good at science, aren't they?
- Se for negação, a question tag será uma pergunta afirmativa.
