Para fazer a forma interrogativa basta coloca o Was ou Were no começo da frase, repetir o restante dela e colocar um ponto de interrogação no final
Para fazer a forma negativa basta substituir o was por wasn't e o were por weren't
a) The detective was helping the inspector
F.I. Was the detective helping the inspector?
F.N. The detective wasn't helping the inspector
b) Tom and Ted were looking at the car in the garage.
F.I. Were Tom and Ted looking at the car in the garage?
F.N. Tom and Ted weren't looking at the car in the garege
c) Alan was reading the newspaper in his room,
F.I. Was Alan reading the newspaper in his room?
F.N Alan wasn't reading the newspaper in his room
