17.a) was pq were é só quando se apresenta no plural e a frase não é negativa, portanto a resposta também n pode ser.
18.b) was pelo mesmo motivo da primeira.
19.a) were, pq a frase está no passado e no plural.

janaina12365: odo estudante de nível básico de inglês aprende logo cedo que were e was são as forma do verbo to be no passado. Assim, nós dizemos:

I was
you were
he was
she was
it was
we were
you were
they were
