I was born on July 13th, in Chicago.

Where do you live?

I live in New York because my children go to school there. Whenever possible, I go to Wyoming, where I have a little farm.

Do you like New York?

No, I don’t. I don’t like crowded cities.

How many children do you have?

I have separate sets of kids: two adult sons with my first wife, and a young son and daughter with my second wife Melissa Mathirson, a screenwriter. I also have a grandchild.

Do you enjoy being a father?

Sure I do. But it’s difficult to be a father. I’m working hard on it but it’s hard to know when say no and how to set limits.

Do you go out very often?

No, I don’t. I enjoy staying at home. Once or twice a week My wife and I go out for dinner, but I don’t like to go out at night.

What do you do in your free time?

I love spending my free time on my farm in Wyoming. I collect airplanes and motorcycles. By the way, I love flying, but I don’t enjoy risking my life. Flying attracts me as a chance to develop a skill, develop a body of knowledge, not as a way to seek danger.

Do you have many friends?

Yes, but I don’t have an identifiable best friend. I have relationships with the people I’m working with. The relationship is based on our combined interest.

How many films do you star a year?

Nowadays I make career sacrifices for good of my family. I try to restrict myself to one movie a year.

Harrison Ford is America’s favorite actor. Are you a millionaire?

I earn more than almost anyone in Hollywood ($20 millions per movie). But I don’t define success in dollars and cents. For me, success is a choice and opportunity. Today I have both.
