Past tense verbs (verbos no tempo passado)

Os verbos do passado (past) nos dizem ações que as pessoas fizeram no passado. Os verbos pretéritos regulares acrescentam um "ed" ao final da palavra, o que chamamos de sufixo.

Agora, este "ed" poderia ser pronunciado como /t/, /d/, ou /ɪd/, mas a forma escrita tem o "ed". Os verbos irregulares do passado não seguem a regra "ed", portanto, costumam mudar sua ortografia para "demonstrar o passado". A exemplo:
