A) not be – happen – have – lose – not pass – spend



Last year _________ a good year for Pete and Sonia. Pete ________________ a car accident and ________________ a month in hospital, Sonia ______________ her job, the children ___________________ their school exams, and a lot of other bad things _________________.





B) be - buy – change – have – open – pass



This year ______________ much better. Peter _____________ his job, and is making much more money. They __________ a new house. Sonia ___________ a small restaurant and it’s going very well. They __________ a baby. And the other children ________all their exams this time.

Last year wasn't a good year for Pete and Sonia. Pete had a car accident and spent a month in hospital, Sonia lost her job, the children didn't pass  their school exams, and a lot of other bad things happened.

B) be - buy change have open – pass

This year has been much better. Peter has changed his job, and is making much more money. They have bought a new house. Sonia has opened a small restaurant and it’s going very well. They have had a baby. And the other children has passed all their exams this time.

Explicação:

→→  Simple past >>> este tempo verbal descreve ações que aconteceram no passado e não estão mais acontecendo no presente.

Exemplos:

I visited my cousin last week. >> Eu visitei minha prima semana passada.

Anna watched TV last night. >> Anna assistiu TV ontem à noite.

The kids played video game. >> As crianças jogaram video game.

→→  Present Perfect >>> expressa ações relativas ao presente, ou seja, as ações dos verbos ainda estão acontecendo ou terminaram recentemente.

O present perfect também pode:

→  indicar uma situação/ação que começou no passado e continua no presente..

I have studied German since 2017. - Eu estudo alemão desde 2017.

(comecei a estudar alemão em 2017 e continuo estudando hoje)

→  indicar uma situação que aconteceu durante um período e que ainda não terminou.

Helen has been to the movies twice this week. (a semana ainda não

terminou).

→  indicar uma ação terminada em um passado recente, confirmada pelo uso da palavra ''just''
