Simple Past

No Simple Past, já vimos que as ações ocorrem sempre em um tempo determinado  no passado, e por isso é comum encontrarmos a presença de marcadores  de tempo, tais como, yesterday (ontem), last night (a noite passada), last Sunday  (domingo passado), last month (o mês passado), last year (o ano passado), some  minutes ago (alguns minutos atrás), this morning (hoje de manhã), etc.

Past Continuous

Exemplo:

I was reading a book while he was watching TV.

(Eu estava lendo um livro enquanto ele estava assistindo TV).

Exemplo:

They were studying when somebody rang the bell.

(Eles estavam estudando quando alguém tocou a campainha.)

Exemplo:

She was often asking for help.

(Ela estava sempre pedindo ajuda.)

Exemplo:

She is wearing a skirt today, but she was wearing a dress yesterday.
