O negativo do passado em Inglês usamos o auxiliar did

(passado do auxiliar do), e acrescentamos not.

Portanto fica did not ou didn't na forma contraída e o verbo volta para o infinitivo.

Sujeito + did not/didn't + verbo no infinitivo.
